Dark circles around the eyes have three main causes: increased pigmentation in the skin, increased blood vessels, or structural hollowness.

With this procedure, deep filler is applied to the hollow area, lifting the tissue. In the short term, the hollowness disappears, resulting in a more youthful appearance, while in the long term, skin tone brightening is observed. Under-eye light filler is usually applied with a total of 1cc for both eyes. However, in some patients, if there is hollowness in the mid-face, additional application may be required in that area.
A local anesthetic cream is applied before the tear trough filler procedure, making the needle insertions painless. Rarely, there may be a stinging sensation or mild pain during the filler application.
After the procedure, swelling may occur on the 2nd or 3rd day. This usually resolves by the 5th day. To reduce swelling and bruising, you can apply arnica cream and use a cold compress periodically. It is recommended to avoid contact with water for the first 4 hours and refrain from makeup for 12 hours. Massaging should not be done unless advised by your doctor.
The duration of tear trough filler typically lasts 12-15 months. This period can vary depending on the individual’s age, the type of filler used, any underlying health conditions, and genetic factors.
