What causes capillaries on the face?

Capillaries on the face (also called telangiectasia) are typically small blood vessels that are located near the surface of the skin and become enlarged. There are several reasons for the prominence of these vessels:

  • Genetic Factors: Capillary dilation may be more common in individuals with a family history of the condition.
  • Ageing: As we age, the skin thins and the underlying blood vessels become more prominent.
  • Sun Exposure: Prolonged sun exposure can cause the skin to thin and make capillaries more visible on the surface.
  • Hormonal Changes: Hormonal changes such as pregnancy, menopause, and certain hormone treatments can lead to capillary dilation.
  • Rosacea: Rosacea is a skin condition characterized by redness and capillary dilation on the face.
  • Trauma: Trauma to the skin (such as an injury or surgical procedure) can cause capillary dilation.
  • Alcohol Consumption: Excessive alcohol consumption can cause capillary dilation.
  • Smoking: Smoking can negatively affect skin health and lead to capillary dilation.
  • Temperature Changes: Sudden temperature changes (such as moving from a hot environment to a cold one) can cause capillary dilation.
  • Chronic Steroid Use: Long-term use of topical steroids can cause thinning of the skin and make capillaries more prominent.

What is DyeVL Laser?

DyeVL (Dye Vertical Laser) laser is a laser treatment used to treat red and brown spots on the skin. DyeVL targets color changes in the skin and can treat conditions such as vascular issues, redness, rosacea, acne, sunspots, age spots, and other pigmentation problems.

DyeVL Lazer Yüzdeki Kılcal Damarların Tedavisinde Nasıl Etki Eder?

DyeVL laser targets red pigments in the skin using specific wavelengths. This feature allows the laser to directly target capillaries on the face. The laser light targets hemoglobin in the capillaries (the oxygen-carrying component of blood). Hemoglobin absorbs the laser light and converts it into heat. This thermal effect causes the capillaries to coagulate (clot). The capillaries exposed to heat coagulate and are gradually broken down and eliminated naturally by the body over time.

DyeVL laser targets the capillaries on the surface while leaving the surrounding healthy skin tissue unaffected. This ensures that the treatment is effective while minimizing the risk of side effects. DyeVL laser treatment is typically quick, and many patients can observe significant improvement after just one session.

Is DyeVL Laser treatment a painful procedure?

During DyeVL laser treatment, patients typically experience mild discomfort, which is often described as the sensation of a “rubber band snapping on the skin.” The level of pain can vary depending on the treated area, the intensity of the laser, and the patient’s pain threshold.

Our DyeVL laser device has a cooling feature during treatment, which helps reduce discomfort. In some cases, topical anesthetic creams are applied to the treated area before the treatment to minimize discomfort. DyeVL laser treatment is generally quick, so any discomfort is usually short-lived.

After the treatment, there may be mild redness, swelling, or bruising on the skin, but this is usually temporary and fades within a few days.

What should I consider after a DyeVL Laser treatment?

After DyeVL laser treatment, it is important to follow some recommendations to protect your skin and achieve the best results.

  • Sun Protection: After the treatment, the skin may become more sensitive to harmful UV rays from the sun. Therefore, it is important to protect your skin from the sun for a few weeks after the treatment, wear wide-brimmed hats, and use high-SPF sunscreen.
  • Skin Care: Gently cleanse the treated area and moisturize your skin. Also, to avoid irritation during the first few days after the treatment, use gentle products to prevent scabbing or peeling of the skin.
  • Be Cautious with Hot Water: Avoid hot showers, saunas, or steam rooms within the first 24-48 hours. Such heat treatments can increase redness in the skin.
  • Makeup: Avoid applying makeup to the treated area within the first 24 hours. You can apply makeup once the skin has healed.
  • Swelling and Redness: Mild swelling and redness after treatment are normal. These symptoms usually disappear within a few days. You can apply cold compresses to reduce swelling.
  • Scabbing and Color Changes: There may be mild scabbing or color changes in the treated area. This is a temporary condition resulting from the treatment. You should avoid picking at the scabs and allow the skin to heal naturally.
  • Pain and Discomfort: If you experience pain or discomfort after the treatment, you can use pain relievers recommended by your doctor.

How many sessions of DyeVL Laser are required for capillaries on the face?

The number of sessions required for DyeVL laser treatment for capillaries on the face can vary depending on the patient’s skin condition, the severity of the capillaries, the size of the treated area, and other individual factors.

DyeVL laser treatment for capillaries is typically recommended in 1-3 sessions. However, this number can increase or decrease depending on the severity of the capillaries and the size of the treated area. Typically, there is a 4-6 week interval between sessions, which allows the skin to heal and be ready for the next treatment. Each individual’s skin type, skin color, the severity of the capillaries, and their response to treatment are different. Therefore, the treatment plan is customized to the individual’s needs.

Does DyeVL Laser provide a permanent effect in the treatment of capillaries on the face?

DyeVL laser targets the capillaries on the face, causing their coagulation (clotting), and can effectively treat these vessels. However, there are some points to note regarding the permanence of the treatment:

Treated Vessels: Capillaries treated with DyeVL laser typically disappear permanently. These vessels are naturally broken down and eliminated by the body after treatment.

New Vessel Formation: However, it is possible for untreated or previously undetected capillaries to become more prominent, or for new capillaries to form. This can occur due to genetic factors, aging, sun exposure, or other triggers.

Be Mindful of Triggers: To prevent capillaries from reappearing or becoming more prominent, it is important to pay attention to sun protection, skincare, and potential triggers (such as extreme temperature changes, alcohol consumption).

Regular Follow-up: Regular dermatological follow-up and, if necessary, additional treatment sessions may be recommended to prevent the recurrence of capillaries or to keep the symptoms under control.
